Palm Springs in Brisbane

This new build needed a garden to match it’s striking architecture. Nestled in the older part of Cannon Hill this house was always going to be a stand out. The brief was to be industrial, secure, and show off the house at the front and some screening and more lush in the rear.

The textured rendered pedestrian entry is positioned on the corner of the property welcoming guests drawing in guests from both street frontages. The gate matching the house screens and gate ensure the garden design flowed seamlessly with the house, while the vertical hardwood posts are repeated through the long side fence providing both a glimpse into the property and some variation in the fence. Once inside floating concrete steps lead you through the Palm Springs style garden to the front door.

The rear of the property required some screening and a more lush feel. The Fan Palms were selected to eventually screen the house at the rear while maintaining the structural feel. Zoysia Empire lawn provides a lush lawn for the family to play. The Endicot crazy paving fire pit area is encompassed within a native red back ginger, screening them from the street. The clothesline is disguised in a timber arbour near the trampoline.
